The next day was Saturday, and that meant - market day! Off we went led by a map. It was about 10 minutes walk from the apartment we rented in ChΓ’lons-en-Champagne.
On the way we admired the style of homes, with typical of the region burgundy shutters. Many homes have the medieval look, which is nothing unusual, when just 1 hour away lies the ancient city Troyes.
We then headed back to the apartment, which we left shortly after breakfast. Checking out was easy, we left the keys in the post box and left south for Troyes.
One hour later, we arrived in Troyes, a medieval city in the Grand-Est, Champagne-Ardenne region. The streets were cobbled, narrow and lined with 16th century half-timbered houses and few Gothic churches, with stained glass windows. The city was not very big, but quite charming, with the main square being most lively with people walking, taking photos or just sitting down, chatting, relaxing with food and drinks.
We only stayed in Troyes a couple of hours, and after few rounds on the French carousel, we headed to our next destination.
