Usually very organised, this time we were booking our accommodation in Verona, in the very last minute. Obviously many of the lovely hotels were booked out, but as always, I remained optimistic. As soon as I have found this little charming place I felt this was where I wanted me and my family to stay.

Bellissima Verona, Italy
Yes, I've seen the 'Letters to Juliet' movie before visiting the area, but I have to admit that the Verona charm is very much there. This must be one of the most picturesque Italian towns I have ever been to.

Welcome to Corte San Mattia, Verona, Italy
The taxi parked in front of the reception at Corte San Mattia. We have stepped out of the car in awe, surrounded by lush greenery, with grapes hanging down from above. We were welcomed by the scent of poplar trees and cosy, atmospheric sound of cicadas.

Passing through picturesque sights of little villages, charming Italian homes, wineries and poplars, the less then 1-hour train from Milan has finally arrived in Verona. The station was not big but boy, was it hot!
