Jardin Botanique, Botanical Garden, Nice, South France
If you happen to be in the West Nice area, there is this beautiful hideaway, called Jardin Botanique. It has been opened to the public since 1991 and is located on the hilly, east side of the city, from where it offers some amazing views. Peacefully beautiful and well maintained throughout the year, it lies on a surface of over 3.5 hectares, with more then 3500 species of mostly Mediterranean plants (some tropical species are constantly in bloom).

I will always feel at home in Cap Ferrat
..or shall I say Nice, where I lived for about 1.5 years? The fact is, that Nice will always be home, but it was actually Cap Ferrat, a once small fishing village, that has stolen my heart. It was here when, one day sitting with my husband and our first baby on the way, by the beach called Paloma, it all felt like a dream.

Hello my dear Nice, South France
We have finally arrived at Gare du Nice-Ville on a direct train (4:50h) from Milan. At Nice's main train station we quickly changed for another train to get to Nice St-Augustin. From here we just walked to pick up our rented car. It was early evening and the sky was cloudy, but nevertheless the view was well worth the wait.

Our overnight stop in Udine, Italy
Our journey to Poland by train continued.. We travelled with children and got off every 2.5 hours or so.. with the idea of a few hour break, or to stay for a few days to discover new, beautiful Mediterranean towns.

Venice, Italy - the City of Love, the Queen of the Adriatic
We got up early in the morning and went down to the organic supermarket NaturaSì to prepare a healthy little lunch for our family for the Venezia trip. We knew, we did not want to rely on street food.

Where to stay in Venice - Treviso, Italy
I read about Treviso in the 'Family Guide - Italy' by DK Eyewitness Travel. This beautiful little town, is located in the Veneto region of northern Italy. With only 30 mins (30km) away by train, makes it an ideal location for your Venice trip.

Corte San Mattia Agriturismo, Verona, Italy
Usually very organised, this time we were booking our accommodation in Verona, in the very last minute. Obviously many of the lovely hotels were booked out, but as always, I remained optimistic. As soon as I have found this little charming place I felt this was where I wanted me and my family to stay.
